History of the University of Applied Sciences Albstadt-Sigmaringen The University of Applied Sciences Albstadt-Sigmaringen was founded in Sigmaringen in October 1971.
The innovative introduction of more courses continued in 1998 and 1999 with the introduction of a new majour field of study - Facility Management, plus Business Computing and Communication and Software Engineering. These courses are now well established internationally due to numerous partnerships with educational institutions around the world. An above average number of students now spend part of their courses abroad, attending partner institutions or working in industry. Since the summer semester of 2000, a masters course in Biomedical Engineering has been held at the Sigmaringen campus in collaboration with the University of Applied Sciences Furtwangen. Further collaboration with the Reutlingen University of Applied Sciences enabled a masters course in Textile and Clothing Technology to begin in the winter semester of 2000/2001. A masters course in Food Chain Management is being offered during the winter semester of 2002/2003 in collaboration with the University of Applied Sciences Nrtingen.

Our mission in the Department of Business Administration and Engineering is to prepare students with the knowledge and skills they need to design, model, analyze and manage modern complex systems, preferably of the automotive industry.
